Campbells Veterinary Surgery is a small-animal practice established in the 1950s and listed as an RCVS General Practice. The website points to a broad, general-practice setup (in-house lab plus X‑ray and ultrasound), with routine care through to surgery and an orthopaedic surgery referral service.
From the latest reviews available to us, experiences are mixed and can hinge on who you deal with: some owners describe very supportive handling during distressing visits (including an unexpected cat appointment), while others report problems with reception/customer service, appointment disruption on arrival, and concerns about cleanliness. Clinical outcomes mentioned include treatment of a severe dental infection with multiple tooth extractions and ongoing routine care (vaccines, anal gland expression, health checks), plus patient handling for a nervous dog.
Based on the website summary, the practice offers
Species treated (per website): dogs, cats, rabbits, small mammals (e.g., guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets), tortoises, small and large cage birds, and backyard poultry.
Emergency care (per website): support is available during normal opening hours; out-of-hours care is provided by Vets Now Swansea.
Google rating: 4.0 stars from 176 reviews.

Kaitlyn and Jazmin are two of the most professional and caring women I've come across, We had to bring our little boy in unexpectedly, I've never felt such heartbreak but they made us feel at ease, he was in safe hands, we were acknowledged and that means ever so much. It was my first and last visit with Campbells but I couldn't recommend them enough 🐈⬛

I have been registered with Campbells for almost five years. I have had a series of rude interactions but finally tipped over the edge. We attended our appointment for the given time at 9am and there wasn’t even a vet in the practice. They had asked to rearrange on arrival. I understand that this causes stress for the practice nurse but her delivery and attitude was disgusting. I had simply asked why I hadn’t been informed and she had provided a series of excuses in simply the rudest manner I have ever experienced. I explained that one of my cats is a rescue and she could hear her in distress but such little empathy shown at a veterinary practice. I have been loyal to Campbells and always polite in my interactions despite their rude staff. However, this time, I had enough. This practice is unreliable with timings, they have rude staff and I have had enough of paying extortionate prices for a terrible experience.

The place is dirty one of the receptionists has no manners at all . All 3 of my animals are now being transferred to another practice .

The service here can be hit and miss, it really depends on which receptionist or vet you see. Some visits have been positive, but others less so. Unfortunately, it seems to be the same receptionist who consistently struggles with manners and professionalism, which is disappointing. It’s a shame, because when you get the right team member, the experience can be completely different.

My elderly mum's dog was unwell and unfortunately had to be put to sleep on Wednesday. My mum was devastated, she lives alone and her dog was her world to say she was distraught would be an understatement. The staff at the vet brought the card machine into the room where my mum was crying for her to make the payment for their services which she did. Personally I don't think that was particularly kind of them but it was done. Two days later and with my mum still grieving for her dog, the vets gave called, said they've made a mistake and undercharged her by £42 and asked if she could "pop down and pay the balance". Understandably she doesn't want to go near the place having lost her dog there 2 days earlier so they've said that's fine and taken the extra payment from her over the phone. I personally think this is particularly heartless behaviour, even by this vets standards. Couldn't they have at least waited a few more days before rinsing the bereaved dog owner of a few more pounds, at least until after the weekend? Our vet sent us a sympathy card when we lost our dog, I'd avoid these money grabbers if you can!

Would rate this 0 stars if I could. Honestly it is shocking how disgusting it is inside. Who would bring their animal here if you’re going to have the stink of dog as soon as you enter. Other vets are way more hygienic than this.
